The Isle Evrima Gateway Map Guide
The Gateway map is the current Evrima map (and has been since the major map rework). This guide covers the major regions, water sources, sanctuaries, and high-traffic player zones.
Map at a glance
Gateway covers roughly 100 km² of varied terrain: dense south jungle, central highlands, a north coastal arc, several inland lakes, and a long west-coast river system. The four corners and the highlands are typically the safest. The central lake region and any sanctuary boundary line are the most dangerous due to player density.

Sanctuaries (juvenile-safe zones)
Sanctuaries are shaded yellow on the map. Carnivore players are asked (not forced) to avoid them. On Jurassic Isle of Exo, killing in a sanctuary is grounds for a moderation ticket. There are five sanctuaries across the map; pick one near a water source and grow there until at least 30% before venturing.
Migration zones
Migration zones (shaded green) are scattered across the map. Visiting them counts towards two of the ten Prime conditions (single-zone visit and 2-zone visit). The 4-zone Patrol bit requires a separate set of zones — also marked green but flagged on the in-game compass with a distinct icon. Use migration trips to combine Prime progress with hunting opportunities.
Water sources
- Central Lake: The largest single body. Always populated. Deinosuchus territory.
- West River: Long N–S river feeding the west coast. Safer than the central lake.
- North-East Pond: Small but unguarded most of the day.
- South Jungle Streams: Many small forks, harder to ambush, slower drinks.
High-traffic kill zones to know
- The Central Lake: Deinosuchus + apex herd magnet. Hyper-dangerous at dusk.
- Sanctuary boundaries: Carnivores camp the edges waiting for juvies to cross.
- Migration choke points: Where two zones meet, expect ambush.
- The Bridge: Central elevated land crossing — bottleneck.
