About the game
What is The Isle: Evrima?
The Isle: Evrima is the modernised, in-development branch of the survival dinosaur game The Isle. Players spawn as a hatchling, eat the correct diet to grow, find water and shelter, and survive in a shared open-world map. Evrima reworks combat, AI, and progression compared to the legacy build, and is the only branch that receives active updates. As of patch v0.7.35 the playable roster includes apex carnivores like Tyrannosaurus and Allosaurus, semi-aquatics like Deinosuchus, mid-tier carnivores like Carnotaurus and Ceratosaurus, and a wide herbivore line-up.
Is The Isle Evrima free?
No. The Isle is a paid Early Access title on Steam. Once you own the base game on Steam you can join any community Evrima server (including Jurassic Isle of Exo) at no extra cost. There is no monthly subscription required from the game's publisher.
Is The Isle Evrima a different game from The Isle?
It is the same Steam title — both branches are delivered through the same product. Evrima is a separate build that you launch from the in-game menu and represents the current direction of development. The legacy branch is still selectable but no longer actively maintained.
What patch is the server on?
Jurassic Isle of Exo runs Evrima v0.7.35. We update within hours of each official patch and post a changelog summary in our Discord whenever a new build drops.
Joining the server
How do I join the Jurassic Isle of Exo server?
Open The Isle, switch to the Evrima branch, click Server Browser, search for Jurassic Isle of Exo, and connect. Read the rules first at /rules — connecting counts as agreement. There is no whitelist; you can join immediately. A full step-by-step walkthrough is on our How to Join guide.
Is the server public or whitelisted?
Public. Anyone with The Isle on Steam can join — no application, no waiting list. We rely on active moderation rather than gatekeeping to keep the community healthy.
What region is the server hosted in?
The game server is hosted in Las Vegas (NA-West), and the supporting bot infrastructure runs in San Jose. Players from the entire continental US, Canada, and most of Latin America see acceptable ping. EU and APAC players can connect but latency will be higher.
Do I need a Discord account?
Strongly recommended. The server's economy, storage, skin lab, and Patreon perks are all wired through Discord OAuth. You can spawn and play without one, but you will miss persistent dino storage, custom skins, the auction house, and Patreon-exclusive species unlocks.
Dino storage and inventory
How does dino storage work?
When your dino is at least 75% grown with full stamina and at least 80% HP, you can run /storedino in Discord. It saves your dino's exact state — species, growth, mutations, skin, Prime conditions, location, inventory — as a card in your inventory. /claimdino brings it back exactly as it was; nothing is lost.
How many dinos can I store?
Default is 2 stored slots plus your one active dino (3 total). Patreon tiers expand this: Juvi stores 4, Sub Adult stores 6, Adult stores 8, Prime stores 12. See the Premium page for the full tier matrix.
Can I lose a stored dino?
Stored cards expire after 280 hours of real time (600 hours for special-skin dinos). Inside that window the card is safe — even through server restarts, wipes, and game patches. Active dinos (those you are playing) are not protected; they die normally when killed.
Does storing my dino lose Prime conditions?
No. Prime status is per-dino-life and is saved with your dino when you store it. When you /claimdino the same dino, every Prime condition you had checked off comes back intact.
Economy and currencies
What are ET and GC?
ET (Exo Tokens) is the main in-game currency, earned from kills, bounties, daily rewards, and store activity. GC (Golden Coins) is the premium currency awarded to Patreon members (Adult: +1 GC per month; Prime: +2 GC per month) and used for rare auctions and cosmetic unlocks. They are separate balances — one cannot be converted to the other.
How do I earn ET?
Get kills (the bigger the prey, the bigger the payout), claim daily login rewards, win bounties on cannibal players, sell items to the lab, and complete in-game milestones. Some Patreon tiers include monthly ET credits as a perk.
Where can I spend currency?
The /shop has consumables and cosmetic items. The /auction lets players trade dinos and skins with each other. The /skins lab lets you apply custom colour palettes to your active or stored dinos.
Premium and Patreon
Is Patreon required to play?
No. The full game is playable without paying anything beyond owning The Isle on Steam. Patreon tiers are optional perks that help fund the server and unlock conveniences like extra storage, early apex access, and Discord roles.
What does the Prime tier include?
Prime ($49.99/mo) is the only tier with Tyrannosaurus unlocks (30-day cooldown). It also includes 12 storage slots, 2 Golden Coins per month, 4-hour cooldowns on Adult species, premium Discord roles, and priority feature voting.
Can I cancel Patreon any time?
Yes. Patreon billing is monthly and you can cancel from your Patreon dashboard. When your tier role is removed from Discord, your storage limit reverts to default and your unlock cooldowns reset to the base values. Stored cards inside your old limit are not deleted — they just cannot be added to until you free slots.
Mutations, Prime, and growth
What are mutations in The Isle Evrima?
Mutations are health-system modifiers a dino can develop based on diet, environment, and random chance. They can be beneficial (faster regen, increased stamina) or harmful (muscle spasms, infertility). There are 44 official mutations in the current Evrima patch — see our Mutations Guide for the complete list.
What does Prime status do?
Prime is a tier of status a dino can earn by meeting at least 5 of 10 conditions (visiting sanctuaries, completing migrations, maintaining a perfect diet, raising offspring, and so on). Prime dinos get stat boosts and can participate in the Elder kill chain. See our Prime Guide for the full bitmap of conditions.
How long does it take to grow to adult?
Growth time depends on species. Small dinos (Hypsilophodon, Dryosaurus) reach adult in roughly two to four hours of active play. Mid-tier carnivores like Carnotaurus take four to six hours. Apex carnivores like Tyrannosaurus and Deinosuchus take eight or more. Times scale with how consistently you maintain hunger, thirst, and diet variety.
Rules and moderation
Is RDM (random deathmatch) allowed?
Carnivore-on-prey killing is fine — that is the game. Same-species killing is heavily penalised: after four same-species kills your dino is flagged as a CANNIBAL, painted bright red, and carries a 1000 ET bounty until killed. Tyrannosaurus and Deinosuchus are exempt from the cannibal flag (their diet allows it).
Are mixpacks allowed?
Limited mixpacking is permitted between compatible species. Apex carnivores cannot mixpack with other apex carnivores. Trolling group-ups designed solely to grief are bannable. Full rules are at /rules/full.
How do I report a player?
Open a ticket in our Discord server. Include the player name, the approximate time, the rule you believe was broken, and a screenshot or clip if possible. Moderators review every ticket and have access to the full server log to verify claims.
